
Teens get acne,for different reasons because all of our skin is different.
The Fast Facts:
-A whopping 85 percent of the U.S. population between ages 12 and 25 develops some form acne.
-Some studies have shown that up to 70 percent of women notice their acne worsening the week before their periods.
- Hygiene is not related to the development of acne. Dermatologists recommend washing with a gentle cleanser once or twice a day. Vigorous scrubbing, harsh exfoliants, and toners can actually make acne worse.
-Blackhead extractors are no more effective than “popping pimples” with fingers. Popping pushes bacteria further into the skin making the area around the pimple red, and inflamed.
So is it avoidable? Most people think that it is related to your diet..This has not been proved scientifically but like I said everyone's skin is different. I am not a dermatologist,everything I'm going to tell you is based on my own experience...and it's not garunteed to work.
But the way I've cleared up my skin is simple:
1.WATER.Honestly,water is like the ultimate beauty product.And I know it has no taste ladies,but try things like Crystal Light Skin Essentials Packets,to add a delicious taste and get a lot of Vitamin C(Which is great for pretty skin.)
2.Healthy diet.I eat at least three servings of fruit a day(Antioxident rich fruit like berries or Vitamin C rich fruits like Oranges are my favs),get my vegetables in and limit the amounts of sugar and fat I eat(Its like impossible and unhealthy to cut out these things completly though...).
3.A simple,natural cleanser.I like natural whenever I can...So I use St.Ives Blemish and Blackhead Control Apricot Srub.After that,I apply the juice of a fresh lemon with a cue tip for spot on acne treatment.The lemon shrinks the acne like magic(And also works well on acne scars along with cocoa butter.) Basically,find a regimen and cleanser that work for you and it's not nessecary to be all fancy with it.
4.SLEEP! Get in the bed BEFORE midnight.I know its summer,and we like to stay up late chatting with our boyfriends or on myspace or whatever...But when I go to bed before 12 and get at LEAST 8 hours of sleep I notice an instant difference in my skin.Another thing is that...not enough sleep has been linked to aging faster,but thats another blog for another day lol.
So these are my top four tips,good luck!And don't stress!When I stress about my acne...it just gets worse;)And please DON'T pop them!!...It can cause scarring thats a pain ot get to go away(I know personally...)
